Hannah's Story

Losing Myself Behind a Full Life

By the age of 40, I had achieved my dreams – a successful career, a loving husband, a beautiful family and a happy home.

Yet I struggled to feel the gratitude I expected. I had become lost in my roles of employee, daughter, mother and wife, and over time I lost touch with who I really was; what my purpose and meaning in life were.

I came to see how much of my life had been shaped by people pleasing, over-achieving and the quiet suppression of difficult emotions.

My cancer diagnosis became a turning point, sharply bringing me face to face with my own vulnerability and prompting a deeper reckoning with how I was living. It also made clear that I needed to begin tending more consciously to my own needs and learning how to relate to my inner world with honesty and care.

“Who would have thought you could help me shed so much tension, anger, fear, isolation and rejection…

Your skill is exceptional, I feel so lucky to have you and look forward already to our next session.”

A Deeply Personal Healing Journey

I immersed myself in holistic healing, reading widely and working with some incredibly wise practitioners. I explored a broad range of approaches, including breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, movement-based practices, nutritional therapy, bodywork and spiritual healing.

Through this process, I began to understand that happiness and fulfilment weren’t going to come from trying to feel less anxious, less ashamed or more secure, or by striving to be more perfect.

Instead, the answers lay in understanding the interplay between mind, body and spirit. I became deeply curious about mind–body medicine and positive psychology, and gradually, my perspective began to shift.

If I was going to support my long-term wellbeing, I needed to explore the deeper patterns shaping my inner life, learn to meet myself with greater compassion, and find ways to process and release past experiences held in the body.

The Turning-Point: Somatics and Integration

Mindfulness and spiritually-informed therapy helped me develop awareness and connection, but I noticed that insight alone didn’t always lead to lasting change.

Somatic work eventually brought a deeper level of integration.

Through somatics, I learned to listen more carefully to my body, regulate my nervous system and release long-held patterns of stress and emotional holding — not through re-living the past, but through gentle, compassionate awareness.

I discovered that learning to stay present with uncomfortable emotions, and to include rather than resist all aspects of myself, opened the door to greater ease, resilience and vitality.

This became a defining moment in my journey. I realised that learning to listen to my needs without judgement was foundational to living in a way that felt authentic, grounded and sustainable.

Why I Do This Work

Why am I sharing all of this? Because I learned first-hand that by tending to our emotional, spiritual and bodily needs in a compassionate way, we can make deep change that brings us into alignment with who we really are. It brings us meaning. It brings us purpose. And it brings us joy.

I realised I had to deepen this understanding through formal training. I trained in Mindfulness, Needs-Based transformational Coaching rooted in non-violent communication, and Breathwork and Movement Therapy for Trauma Healing. My studies were as much about my own healing and development as they were about learning how to support others.

As I began weaving these approaches together, I noticed meaningful shifts in my own life — increased self-compassion, steadier emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of purpose and self-trust. My somatic training also heightened my awareness of how stress and overwhelm show up in the body, and how to respond to them with care.

This is the heart of my work today. I support women gently and collaboratively, at a pace that feels appropriate for each nervous system, creating a space where every part can feel acknowledged and respected. From here, women can reconnect with self-trust, inner wisdom and a renewed sense of meaning — not just as ideas, but as lived experience.
